Highlights from the 4 chapters of ‘KGA’ (‘All is fair in love and war’ actually)/ Short version of my bs.

  • Ilya being a dick to a guard because he was in a mood™
  • That one fucking Russian word I used Google Translate for (‘love’ BTW.)
  • The sass(?) “Loved, Boss. Past tense simple, hell of a bitch”; “ Later, fuckers!”
  • I’m kinda bad at describing actions, which means: “So: Firstly, Christopher was so blinded with rage he took out one of his throwing knives and tried to hit Ilya, but he dodged”
  • The title if Ch 2 “Can life like… not??”
  • “ ‘Ugh, shut up’ grumbled Dimitri, downing his 3rd cup of coffee” (a.k.a BOY YOU BETTER CHILL)
  • Dimitri just generally thinking “great, another newbie that dies in 5 days”
  • “Wait, Christopher is your ex?” (Dimitri. No.)
  • Chapter 3: “Cupid may have messed up” in which Dimitri finds out he’s gay AF for Ilya
  • Micha being a jerk to Dimitri just because he’s staring.
  • Dev is Isis 2.0
  • “Stop calling me ‘sir’ you’re older than me”
  • Ilya dancing
  • Dimitri acting hot for no reason
  • Palm reading session feels oddly sexual for no reason.
  • Chapter 4 is just super cute (“Happy stars 🌌”)
  • Dev being shocked at the fact that Ilya told her.
  • High key Heathers ref
  • Dimitri laughing
  • Ilya does ballet
  • (Out of context) “Jesus Christ man you’re as light as a feather” (-Dimitri)
  • “Ugh fine, mom.”
  • Dimitri shows off his creation powers by building a whole universe to see Ilya happy
  • Nicknames!
  • Unresolved romantic tension 🙂

Edit:

  • (Still at Ch. 4) Dev interrupting the ‘bonding moment’
  • “(…) as they kept bickering like a married old couple”
  • Random reference to Now You See Me 2
  • Beginning of Chapter 5 having subtext for no reason
  • Ilya teaches Dimitri how to dance
  • Ilya instinctively curling up against Dimitri because he feels safe in the arms of Ptah’s son
  • Cuddles. Lots of cuddles.
  • Exposition
  • I start to call the characters that tapped into the god (or general major mythical godlike being) power by the “parent’s name”
  • Aphrodite (Mary) is a bitch™ again
  • Dimitri lied about being unable to dance.
  • “Oh shut up.” “Make me.” (I walked myself into that one)
  • Ilya shamelessly flirting with Dimitri because ‘screw it I love him, he loves me I might as well frustrate him’
  • Sparring
  • Someone is spying on them (Lyssa, daughter of Hestia)
  • Unnecessary tension squared
  • The little soulmate AU idea I had starts forming and it’s weird
  • They’re officially a couple now which is gonna be bad for Dimitri soon enough

Timers for that stupid (in kga universe) mythology “lesson” I promised

Mkay here we are. Don’t kick me if I offended your religion, okay?

So, in that wonderful (almost said magical but I avoided the pun last minute) universe, mythology is a bit different:

  • There are more pantheons there than here (we have the “Christian Pantheon” which is just 3 divine creatures as an example I mean wtf? Are saints ‘gods’ too??)
  • Christianity, Muslim (?) and Islamic beliefs are gone
  • There are about 9 MAIN pantheons (Egyptian, ancient Irish, Chinese and Japanese, Roman and Greek, Norse, Aztec and Hindu)
  • Every family has godlike blood (the Crowthers have 4 bloodlines mushed together: 2 Egyptian, 1 Messoppotamian and 1 Greek)
  • Talents of said god/s will manifest only in certain people, mainly the ones preferred by the god/s
  • all gods and myths are real. Yes. All of them. Apophis is real there
  • So are Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl
  • Ragnarok already happened, but the gods survived somehow
  • You get physical traits from your god (Dev has Isis’ wings) and can write AND speak in their language (Nobody really understands Dragon because of him ‘slipping’ and speaking Messoppotamian)

And now, to the magic thing ‘cause that needs explaining

Basically magic is a form of energy that can alter reality. The god’s original power is altered from individual to individual. Here’s some examples:

  • Ilya is a ‘Son of Apollo.’ His power consists in taking anything remotely related to music or poetry (dancing too) to the extreme of reality. This is why he NEVER sings songs about bad stuff. Never.
  • Dev is, as I mentioned, Isis 2.0. She gets the medicine part only.
  • Mel is a ‘Daughter of Nephthys’ and she’s bffs with the children of Thanatos (y’know, the Grim Reaper of Greek Mythology?) as she makes their job easier
  • Seb’s ‘The Son of Amun-Ra’ and he’s a ray of sunshine (bad pun ik)
  • Maria (the one who’ll help Ilya get the boy™ by confirming he’s gay) is a ‘Child of Aphrodite’ and got the bitchy side of love.
  • Dimitri is ‘A Son of Nun/Ptah’ and creates stars to make Ilya feel better

I could ho on forever, but this is the basics.

Edit: I changed Dimitri’s godly parent to ‘Nun/Ptah’ because they’re both portrayed as ‘primordial gods’. In Riordan’s “Kane Chronicles” Ptah was a god of crafts, but I literally took the older version as the creator god. Nun has little to no information about them online but Red from OSP took them as Ra’s pops so yeah… Do your research kids.

Twitter bans misgendering and deadnaming in pro-trans move

crossdreamers:

The twitter rules and policies now include the following paragraph:

We recognise that if people experience abuse on Twitter, it can jeopardize their ability to express themselves. Research has shown that some groups of people are disproportionately targeted with abuse online. This includes; women, people of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual individuals, marginalized and historically underrepresented communities. For those who identity with multiple underrepresented groups, abuse may be more common, more severe in nature and have a higher impact on those targeted.

They add:

We prohibit targeting individuals with repeated slurs, tropes or other content that intends to dehumanize, degrade or reinforce negative or harmful stereotypes about a protected category. This includes targeted misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals.
